In Engineering, we apply mathematical models to our problems. To have a solution, we can either use analytical or numerical methods. Analytical solutions provides an exact solution. However, it may not be computationally feasible to obtain it. Since we may not always have an analytical solution and even if it exists, it may not be computationally feasible to calculate, we need to apply some approximations and have a “close enough” solution. These methods are called Numerical Methods. This course introduces numerical methods.
