VME427 INTERNAL MEDICINE

During a disaster response, tasks such as rescuing displaced or injured animals or administering first aid or other medical treatment will require the handling of companion animals. Understanding proper handling and restraint methods will minimize stress on the animals and reduce the risk of injury to responders. The method used should provide the least restraint required to allow the specific procedure(s) to be performed properly, should minimize fear, pain, stress and suffering for the animal, and should protect both the animal and personnel from harm.

The aim of the this lecture is to provide knowledge on Handling  and Restraint methods.
