AQS 302 Limnology

This course deals with the dynamics of physical, chemical and biotic environment and their functional relationships in freshwaters. Main topics covered include: the origin of lakes, heat, light and water movements, salinity of inland waters, chemical properties of water, plankton and littoral communities, sediment, benthos and fish. The lake and reservoir management, properties of ponds, streams, wetlands and estuaries are also discussed.
